Karnataka minister injured in accident

Mysore, Mar 13 (UNI) Karnataka cooperative minister G T Deve Gowda was injured in an accident when his car was hit by a another car on the Mysore - Nanjangud road late last night.

Mr Devegowda was returning to the Mysore city after attending the village festival at Chikka Kanya, near here, when the mishap occurred. Though the injuries were not serious, he was admitted to a private hospital here.

Police have seized the car and arrested the driver and investigation was on.

Idol in TN temple worth Rs 15 lakh missing

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nad, Mar 16 (UNI) The 175 ft Panchaloka idol weighing 11 kgs and worth Rs 15 lakh was stolen from Maliswaran temple at Chengalmal in Kelambakkam, near here yesterday. Police said the watchman of the temple noticed a stranger leaving the temple premises during the morning pooja. The temple authorities chase went in vain as the stranger managed to escape. When they searched the room in which the valuables were stored, the found the idol of the deity Chandrasekaraswamy.....
