Japanese Encephalitis vaccination in Haryana

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) A Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination campaign will be launched by Haryana Health Department to safeguard children between the age group of one to 15 years from this vector borne disease.

Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Health) Urvashi Gulati said the campaign would be launched next month covering high risk JE endemic districts of Karnal and Kurukshetra in the first phase where more than eight lakh children would be vaccinated.

The remaining two JE endemic districts of Kaithal and Ambala would be covered in the second phase.

She said the Central Government had identified about 101 JE endemic districts in the country, out of which four were from Haryana.

Kolkata, Mar 14 (UNI) Tata Steel has been conferred with the "Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in Public Health" by US -India Business Council (USIBC) Population Services International (PSI) and the Centre for Strategic and International studies (CSIS) for outstanding contribution in combating HIV/AIDS". Tata Steel Managing Director B Muthuraman received the award from Ms Ashley Judd, acclamed Hollywood actress and PSI board member at a function in Mumbai today. NRKs hesitant to invest in Kerala

Kozhikode, Mar 12 (UNI) The Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) are hesitant to invest in the state because of the unattractive and delayed returns offered by the government. ''We have a very bad experience in the past as the returns from the previous investments are very unattractive and pro-longed'' said Pravasi Bandhu Welfare Trust (PBWT) Chairman K V Shamsuddeen in a letter addressed to Kerala Finance Minister T M Thomas Issac.
