'Infrastructure' company in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 (UNI) A company has been registered in Kerala for infrastructure development named 'Infrastructure Kerala Ltd', in tie-up with private sector for rapid industrial growth, Industries Minister Elamaram Karim said today.

Infrastructurs Kerala Ltd would soon start functioning with a paid up capital of Rs 100 crore.

Private individuals and companies would hold 74 per cent shares of the company, while the rest would be with government institutions. The government would also seek the participation of Non-Resident Keralites in the project.

The company would identify and develop suitable land for various industrial projects. There was also a proposal to create a land bank under the company, the minister added.

Villagers in Alipurduar kill one bison; 5 more still on rampage

Coochbehar, Mar 4 (UNI) A bison was killed by villagers today when a herd of eight emerged from Chilapata forest and started plundering the surrounding villages in Alipurduar. Police said, meanwhile, the villagers have chased two of the animals back into the forest. However, the rest are still on a rampage in Kuntighat, Birpara and Poropara villages. The Forest Department personnel and police are now trying to bring the situation under control, sources added. UNI.....

Haryana to compensate loss of crop by hailstorm: Hooda

New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mar 14 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today conducted an aerial survey of the hailstorm affected areas in the districts of Mahendergarh, Rewari, Mewat and Faridabad to assess the damage caused to the crops due to heavy rains and intense hailstorm.
