IDC formulates projects for NRIs

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 (UNI) The Kerala Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has formulated small and medium projects for Non Resident Indians (NRI) interested in investing in the state, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the Assembly today.

He said project proposals were prepared to help the NRIs to invest in agriculture, health and food processing sectors.

Besides this, the District Industrial Centers had also formulated such projects in locally viable areas, he said in a written reply.

Mr Achuthanandan said to attract more investments, the government was also implementing a special scheme through the District Industrial Centers, to make available Rs five lakh margin money as loan to those who were interested to invest in these projects.

Russia set to resume arms supplies to Afghanistan:Ministry official

Moscow, Mar 5 (UNI) In view of the increased activities of Taliban and Al Qaeda, Russia is ready to discuss resumption of arms supplies to Afghanistan, during the coming visit of Afghan Defence Minister Alexander Maryasov here, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said today. Pakistan warns befitting response against any attempted hot pursui

Islamabad, Mar 5 (UNI) Pakistan today warned that any attempt of indulging in hot pursuit against it would be met with a befitting response. ''Any attempt to cross the border or the Line of Control (LoC) will be effectively countered,'' foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam told a press briefing in Islamabad. She was commenting on a reported statement by the Indian defence minister A K Antony that his troops would carry out strikes in areas where the illegal cross-border infiltration was.....
