Haryana leads in crime update on website

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) Haryana police has created a record in the country by entering its 100 per cent data of crime in the website of daily crime reporting (DCR) system of the National Crime Records Bureau.

''The Bureau has highly praised the state police for the constant updating of the web enabled daily crime reporting, which is being monitored by the Bureau on regular basis,'' a police spokesman said here yesterday.

He further told mediapersons that Director General of Police, Haryana has directed all police officials to maintain this regime of entering duly checked and correct information regarding crime occurring in the state daily into the Bureau website.

''The information obtained through DCR could be of immence help in framing replies to the public and also for having an overview of the crime situation at national-level daily,'' he said.

According to spokesman, the DGP has mentioned that DCR proforma are being revised so that data in respect of crime committed specifically against Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe, may also be captured in the system.

MoU to streamline Indian workers handed over to Kuwait

Dubai, Mar 11 (UNI) India has handed over to Kuwait a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), on Indian workers in the kingdom, pending final ratification by both governments, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed said. Scientists to develop high-resolution map of Antarctica

Washington, Mar 13 (UNI) Scientists are developing a ''unique and versatile'' map of Antarctica, using satellite imagery. It is a joint project of the US Geological Survey (USGS), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the British Antarctic Survey (BAS).
