Haj house will be completed before Haj pilgrimage season: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 13 (UNI) Kerala Local Self Government Minister Paloli Mohammad Kutty today told the Assembly that the Haj house project constructed at Kozhikode will be completed before the next Haj pilgrimage season.

In a written reply, he said the State and the Centre would provide Rs one crore each for the Rs 4.5 crore project. The remaining fund would be collected from hajees and other prominent individuals.

The new Haj house would have facilities to accommodate 1,000 hajees at a time, place for prayers, dining hall and luggage hall.

Besides this, facilities for a Haj cell, Haj committee office and Emigration office of India would also be available in the new Haj house, the Minister added.

Britain restricts Pakistan International Airlines operations

Islamabad, Mar 3 (UNI) Britain has become the second European country to restrict Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) operations to destinations in the UK. Dawn newspaper quoted a PIA spokesman as confirming the restrictions and saying that they had been told by the UK authorities only to fly Boeing 777 jets to the UK destinations.
