Four NSCN-IM cadres arrested in Mizoram

Aizawl, Mar 13 (UNI) Mizoram police today said they have arrested four NSCN-IM cadres, at Sinhui village, about 20 km from here, yesterday.

Police sources said the cadres had been sent to Mamit district police headquarters for interrogation, adding that they had abducted four youths from West Phaileng village in West Mizoram last week.

According to Mamit Superintendent of Police Neihchungnunga, the cadres had been chasing a few people, who had left NSCN(K) camp in Tripura-Mizoram-Bangladesh border following an internal clash few days ago.

He further said the cadres had killed many of their rebellious members in the camp and forced local Mizo youths to dig the graves.

J'khand govt to spend Rs 600 cr over infrastructure: HRD Min

Ranchi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand government would spend Rs 600 crores to strengthen infrastructure of the educational institutions in the state by 2009-2010. Replying to a short hour question, raised by suspended BJP MLA Pradeep Yadav, State Human Resources Development Minister Bandhu Tirkey said the matter was sent to the 12th Finance Commission after being approved by a high-powered committee. No immediate US visa to Geelani

Sriangar, Mar 14 (UNI) The United States has informed ailing Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC), that he cannot be issued immediate visa to travel to that country. Mr Geelani was informed by the officials of the US embassy in New Delhi that it will take at least one month to grant visa to him, his wife and son, a spokesman of the HC Aiyaz Akbar told UNI. Mr Geelani, his wife and son had applied.....
