Farmers black roads, demand compensation for crop damage

Jaipur, Mar 13 (UNI) Farmers in Bharatpur district are resorting to road blockades in at least ten different places today demanding compensation for the damage to their crops due to heavy rainfall yesterday.

According to police, farmers have blocked national highway passing through Bharatpur near Daira mode, four places under Chiksana police station and Uchain police station.

The police are trying to disperse the assembled farmers and open the road blockades and streamline the huge traffic.

Last night, many parts of Rajasthan including Jaipur, Barmer, Bharatpur and Dholpur districts received heavy rainfall and hailstorm. The hail measured at least 300 gm in Chomu near Jaipur.

Crops like wheat, mustard, gram, potato have been totally damaged.

The hailstorm killed many birds also.

Haryana Assembly adjourned twice

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) The Haryana Assembly was adjourned twice, followed by a walkout by INLD members, during the resumed debate today on the motion of thanks to Governor's address to the House. Speaker Raghubir Singh Kadian first adjourned the House for ten minutes and then again for five minutes when INLD members came to the well of House and raised anti-government slogans. They were demanding that their leader and former Chief Minister O P Chautala should be allowed to speak.....

Three HM activists arrested along with Rs 4.21 lakh hawala money

Jammu, Mar 13 (UNI) Three Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), including two sisters of 'Chenab Divisional Commander', were arrested and Rs 4.21 lakh hawala money, one Thoraya satellite phone and a BSNL mobile were recovered from their possession at Ramban in Doda district, official sources said here today. Official sources said, a joint naka was laid by sleuths of Central Intelligence Agency, Police and SOG and arrested them at Ramban who were waiting to take a vehicle for Gool. The militants were identified.....

Rains, hailstorm ravage Rajasthan, temps dip

Jaipur, March 13 (UNI) Crops spread over thousands of hectares in many districts of Rajasthan have been lost completely due to unseasonal rains over the past few days, mainly under the influence of western disturbance and cyclonic winds. At least 14 children sustained burn injuries after lightening struck them yesterday in Pali district. They have been admitted in the hospital. Meanwhile, Pilani in Jhunjhunu district recorded the highest rain yesterday, mapping 19.6 mm. The state capital also had to face.....
