Eleven IIM-A grads reject international offers, opt for Indian cos

Ahmedabad, Mar 13 (UNI) Buoyed by India's sucess story, a new trend is emerging among management professionals to work for an India-based corporate than an international company.

This is reflected in the fact that eleven students of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad,(IIM-A) rejected international offers and opted for domestic companies during the placements that concluded yesterday, said coordinator of students' placement committee Devashis Chakravarty at a press conference here.

Jatin Mamtani, who rejected a pre-placement offer from a leading investment bank, said though he had an offer of 140,000 USD, he wanted to work in a consulting firm in India and be a part of the great 'Indian growth story'.

He said he has got an offer of Rs 15 to 20 lakh salary from an Indian consulting firm.

Sumit Kumar, another student, who too preferred a domestic offer over an international one, said salary structures in India have also seen a huge hike. ''I have lived abroad for sometime and know how things function there. I will prefer to work here any day. The range of opportunities and variety that India offers, has inspired me to stay back. India is the best,'' he said.
