Eleven arrested in connection with shootout in city

Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) Police today arrested eleven people allegedly involved in the February 15 shootout in the city in which two people were killed.

City Police Commissioner Neelam Achutharao told newspersons here that six teams of City Crime Branch (CCB) and local police had succeeded in nabbing the accused involved in the shootout in the office of Shabnam Developers here.

However, the main accused was still at large and had reportedly gone underground or abroad, he said, adding efforts were on to arrest him by approaching the Interpol.

Mr Achutharao said a nine mm pistol, an eight mm hand gun, nine rounds of live cartridges, motorcycle used in the crime and cell phones were recovered from them.

He said the investigation had revealed that a criminal consipiracy was hatched by one Ravi Poojari along with one Kaviraj to kill Mr Shamiulla, owner of Shabnam Developers.

TTD Board approves budget

Tirumala, Feb 25 (UNI) The Board of Trustees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) today approved the annual budget for the financial year 2007-2008. Bangalore, Mar 13 (UNI) Four members of a family, including a former supporting actress of Bollywood, were arrested and stolen articles worth over Rs 13 Lakhs were recovered from them, Commissioner of Police Neelam Achutharao said today. Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced setting up of special cell to monitor prices of essential commodities.
