Dehradun lashed with heavy hailstorm

Dehradun, Mar 13 (UNI) Dehradun city was today lashed by heavy hailstorm after more than 50 years.

Though the hailstorm occurred for just 10 minutes at 1445 hrs the whole capital city was covered with about two inches of white hailstorm. Where children were seen enjoying it by throwing the Hailstorm at each other, the adults were seen busy taking photographs. It is likely the wheat and other crops and Mango and Lichi might be effected. Clear wheather suddenly changed gloomy and hailstorming started. Again the weather turned to bright sun.

According to the weather department heavy snowfall occurred in the higher reaches of the state.

Kargil-Drass too receive heavy snowfall, 3 days holiday declared

Kargil, Mar 13 (UNI) The district administration has ordered closure of all educational institutions for three more days in the district following heavy snowfall. Major roads from here to some towns and far flung and remote areas were closed for traffic due to one feet to three feet of fresh snowfall. Deputy Commissioner of Kargil said all educational institutions will remain closed for three more days because of snowfall. Official sources said upper reaches in Kargil, Drass, Muskhoo and Matayan recorded.....

Snow, rain continue to lash region

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) Higher reaches in Himachal Pradesh experienced heavy snowfall while widespread rain pounded Punjab and Haryana for the third day today, reviving cold climatic conditions in the region. The incessant snowfall and rain disrupted normal life in many areas of Himachal Pradesh, triggering landslides in mid and lower hills and affecting power supply and telecommunication services especially in the tribal areas.
