CNN to widen coverage of India for global audience

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) In a bid to enhance its coverage of India for global audience, CNN, one of the world's leading global 24-TV news network, is launching a project 'Eye on India' with special focus on the massive population of the country's youth.

CNN Vice-President Rena Golden told reporters here that India's demography, its economic and technological growth was today inviting worldwide attention, and that had promted it to embark on an exclusive coverage of the country's youth and their changing attitudes and values to audiences in more than 200 countries around the world.

Its partner in the project will be Indian news channel IBN, she said.

The week-long programme will kickstart with 'CNN Connects:India's Generation Next on March 18.

Anchored by CNN-IBN's Rajdeep Sardesai and CNN's Monita Rajpal, the programme will feature young Indian celebrities, business leaders and commentators, and an audience of over 100 young Indians.

The interactive show will debate four main themes--The Power of Youth; Love:India Style;The Caste Challenge and India Pride.

As part of the week-long programme, CNN branded vehicles will travel across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, encouraging youth to express their views on various issues facing them.

To a question, Ms Golden said India was a booming media market and the CNN wanted to make use of this opportunity.

Dress rehearsal for Russian parliamentary elections to start Sunday

Haryana leads in crime update on website

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (UNI) Haryana police has created a record in the country by entering its 100 per cent data of crime in the website of daily crime reporting (DCR) system of the National Crime Records Bureau.
