CITU'S challo assembly on Mar 22 for unorganised sector

Tirupati, Mar 12(UNI) To put pressure on the Andhra Pradesh Government to recognise the unorganised sector in more than 36 organisations, Centre of Indian Trade Union(CITU) will take out a Chalo assembly programme on March 22 , Chittoor District CITU Secretary R Hari Krishna said here today.

Talking to mediapersons here he alleged that more than 95 lakh workers were working in the unorganised sector in the State with insecurity.

Mr Krishna said the Government had made promises for the welfare of the Anganwadi workers and Grama sevaks, but it failed to fulfil the promise.

He demanded the Government to bring a legislation to recognise the unorganised sector workers by introducing Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance (ESI) Corporation, besides providing accidential insurance cover.

He alleged that with the implementation of Outsourcing system in various organisations in the State, the percentage of Contractual labourers were on the increase every year. Backward castes communities were the major losers, he alleged.

The Government should introduce minimum wages for the workers in various sectors, he added.

Arrival of migratory birds declines, says Govt

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) The Government today said a decline in the arrival of migratory birds in the country has been reported. Important wetlands are the main winter habitat of migratory birds. These are Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Chilka in Orissa, Etawah and Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, Sultanpur in Haryana and Nalsarover and Kutch in Gujarat. There a few reports of the migration to some of these wetlands having declined, Minister of state for Environment and Forests Namo Narain Meena told.....

Hyderabad, Feb 23 (UNI) Japanese Peptide Society Chairman Yoshiaki Kiso has said peptides, used for the treatment of various killer diseases like diabetes, endocrine disorders, HIV, Cancer and heart-related problems, would play a key role in physiological activities. Inaugurating the two-day India's first ''National Symposium on Peptides'' yesterday, Prof Yoshiaki said the future belonged to peptides which had huge potential as drugs and were considered as natural pharmaceutical. The peptide drugs were very cost effective, with less side effects when compared.....
