APUWJ, EPF stage protest rally

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) and Eluru Press Forum (EPF) today organised a protest rally here to condemn the attack on a press photographer and a reporter by certain anti-socials at Purushottampalli.

The APUWJ and EPF also warned the state government that they would call for an indefinite hunger strike, if the government failed to arrest the culprits who attacked the journalists.

Later, a delegation led by APUWJ District President K Manikya Rao, EPF President G Raghuram and General Secretary K Suresh Kumar submitted a memorandum to Eluru District Collector.

Duration of spl trains to B'lore extended

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu has ordered the extension of duration of weekly special trains on Chennai Central-Bangalore section in both directions to clear the extra rush of passengers. A Southern Railway press release said the Bangalore-Chennai Central Weekly Express will be operated on March 16, 23 and 30 while the Chennai Central-Bangalore specials will be operated on March 17, 24 and 31. Samjhauta Express blasts findings to be shared with Pak

Islamabad, Mar 1 (UNI) Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Satyabrata Pal said his country would share findings of the ongoing investigation into the Samjhauta Express blasts with Pakistan on March 6. Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted him as saying in Rawalpindi that the findings will be presented at the March 6 meeting of the joint anti-terror mechanism. Two workers killed as mud wall cave-in

Rajahmundry, Mar 13 (UNI) Two workers were killed on the spot when the mud wall they were breaking cave-in at Kotha Kotapadu village in East Godavari district today. The deceased were Karri Venkataramana (26) and Gundu Satyanarayana (35), police said. In another incident, a 21-year-old man was electrocuted when the 11 KV power line snapped and fell on him. Kadyrov nominated new Chechen President
