APPM agreement would benefit the employees: INTUC

Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 12 (UNI) East Godavari District INTUC President K Joshi today said an agreement reached here between the management and employees of Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills(APPM) would help the employees to get a hike ranging from Rs 1634 to Rs 1714.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Joshi said the agreement was made to take care of the employees welfare.

The State Roads and Buildings minister J Ramamohan Rao and MLA R Suryaprakas Rao, who were also present on the occasion said the APPM has made the maximum hike right from its inception and it would indeed be a hallmark in the annals of company's history.

They said though there were surplus women workers, their services were regularised. The management had acceded to the requests of the employees to enhance the educational assistance of their children from Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 and assured meritorious scholarships of Rs 1,000 to promising children, they added.

They said the management had also agreed to enhance the death relief fund.

Nitish calls for awareness on health facilities

Patna, Feb 24 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today exhorted the people's representatives to generate awareness about facilities offered by government in health sector and keep a watch on utilisation of funds. Inaugurating a 'mass awareness week on health' here, Mr Kumar said a computerised data base system incorporating details about the health facilities in the state would be opened for public through a website. He said any one could know details about the diagnosis of the patient.....
