355 more roads notified by MCD as Commercial/mixed use roads

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today notified another 355 roads in nine zones of Delhi as commercial or mixed use streets, paving way for relief from sealing for more people in the city.

The 355 roads in C and D colonies of Delhi were notified as commercial or mixed use streets at a meeting of the MCD Standing Committee here.

Standing Committee chairman Jai Kishen Sharma said the notification of the 355 roads as commercial or mixed use streets, together with the notification of 2183 roads in E, F and G colonies already designated as commercial or mixed use streets, would pave way for complete relief for people of Delhi and traders from sealing.

Of the 355 roads, 104 have been notified as commercial streets, 167 as mixed use streets and 30 as pedestrian shopping streets.

The maximum number of 83 roads have been notified in Civil Lines zone, followed by 64 in Najafgarh, 56 in West, 54 in Central zone, 31 in Shahdara (South) and 25 in South zone.

The list of 355 roads will now be sent to the Delhi Government for approval, which will send the same to the Lt Governor for final notification of these roads as commercial or mixed use streets.

Speaker asks police to maintain tight security during budget session

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) Envoys of Sweden, Portugal, Tunisia and Jamaica today presented their credentials to President A P J Abdul Kalam.
