13 alternate identity must for electors in LC poll: EC

Hyderabad, Mar 12 (UNI) Election Commission today notified 13 alternate mode, along with elector identity card for voting in the forthcoming Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Elections from the Graduates and Teachers' Constituencies slated on March 17.

The Commission said voters for the Graduates and Teachers Contituencies for the Council poll should carry one of the 13 instruments in case they did not possess the voters identity cards issued by the Commission during the Assembly polls in 2004.

The 13 instruments are: Ration cards with photographs issued on or before December 31, 2006, service identity cards with photographs issued to employees by State/Central Government/Public Sector Undertaking or Public Limited Companies, driving licences issued on or before December 31, 2006 with photographs.

Passbooks with photograph issued by Public Sector Banks/Post Office (accounts opened on or before December 31, 2006), Income tax Identity Card (Pan Card), Passports, ATM cards with photographs issued by Banks on or before December 31,2006, Arms licences with Photographs issued on or before December 31,2006.

Pension documents with photographs such as Pension Payment Order, Ex-Servicemen and Widow persons dependents of ex-servicemen pension document with photographs, Certificate of physically handicapped persons with photographs issued by the competent authority.

Freedom fighters identity card with photograph, pattadar pass books containing photographs issued on or before December 31,2006, and Property documents such as Pattas, Registered Deeds among others, with photographs issued on or before December 31,2006.

Corporation Bank's total business to touch Rs 80,000 cr: MD

Tirupati, Mar 8 (UNI) Corporation Bank Chairman and Managing Director B Samba Murthy said the total business of the bank was expected to touch Rs 80,000 crore by March. Addressing a press conference here yesterday, he said the Bank was striving for better performance in the coming years and had set a target to raise total business to Rs 1,00,000 crore by March 2008. Besides the existing 880 branches, the bank would open 15 more and 74 more ATM centres.....

Decision about RLD, Jana Morcha, Cong alliance likely tomorrow

New Delhi, Mar 13 (UNI) As the notification for the seven-phase Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh were issued in Lucknow today, the national capital here witnessed hectic efforts to finalise an alliance of former Prime Minister VP Singh-led Jana Morcha, the Rashtriya Lok Dal of Ajit Singh and the Congress. The BJP has already declared its partnership with the Apna Dal and the JD(U) for the state elections. A Jana Morcha source told UNI that Mr Ajit Singh had a meeting.....

KVB's total business to touch Rs 17,500 cr: Chairman

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 8 (UNI) The Karur Vysya Bank Limited (KVB), a leading private sector bank, would touch a business of Rs 17,000 to Rs 17,500 crore before the end of this fiscal, Bank Chairman P T Kuppuswamy said. Talking to newspersons here today, Mr Kuppuswamy said the target for the current year was only Rs 15,753 crore.
