Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today arraigned Madhya Pradesh's BJP government in the Assembly for ''taking credit'' for several projects that were ''conceptualised or initiated'' during his decade-long regime. BJP centralising administration: Digvijay

Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today said in the Assembly that the BJP government was centralising governance in Madhya Pradesh with all programmes controlled from the Chief Minister's residence. ''During the previous Congress regime, Madhya Pradesh was ranked among first five states which went for e-governance. The state had ignored information technology sector. Even the government website was not updated and still showed him (Mr Singh) as the Chief Minister'', Mr Singh said while initiating the general.....

No drought in Vijaypur, says Govt

Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) The government today told the Madhya Pradesh Assembly that Vijaypur tahsil in Sheopur district was not declared drought-affected as the crop position was good despite shortfall in rains. Revenue Minister Kamal Patel, while replying to a call attention notice brought by Mr Ram Niwas Rawat(Cong), said Kharif yield in all 223 villages was above 50 percent and average yield was 71 percent. In such a situation, the tahsil could not be declared drought-affected Mr Patel, however, admitted.....

Pune, Mar 12 (UNI) Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Orissa, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and of Tamil Nadu. They were apprecuably to markedly below normal in Punjba, west Rajasthan, in some parts of Haryana and were below normal in Arunachal Pradesh and Kashmir. They were normal over the rest of the country. Cold wave conditions prevailed in Kashmir. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Tamil.....

Greenpeace activists demonstrate on harmnful effects of coal

Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) ''Greenpeace'' activists today staged demonstrations in front of Hotel Rennaisance at Powai here to protest against the continued large scale usage of coal on the inaugural day of the 6th Coaltrans India conference.
