Tata Tea expects to clock Rs 1,000 cr revenue this fiscal

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Tata Tea, the country's largest tea brand, is expecting to close the current fiscal with Rs 1,000-crore-revenue mark, clocking a near 13 per cent growth.

''Last year the company registered a 10-12 per cent rise in its revenue. This year we are expecting the figures to grow slightly upwards,'' Tata Tea Executive Director (Marketing) Sangeeta Talwar told reporters here today.

According to a survey by AC Nielson, Tata Tea's share in the domestic branded tea space is 18 per cent, about Rs 900 crore, of the Rs 6,000 crore market.

The country's tea market is growing at a rate of 3.3 per cent annually.

Targeting the growing health-conscious segment in the country, the company today launched its new product -- Tata Tea Life -- with a slogan 'Jiyo Har Din Zyaada'.

Initially, the brand will be available in 250 grams and 100 grams standi packs with zipper locks priced at Rs 52 and Rs 20 respectively.

''We expect a large set of consumers to replace their existing everyday cup of tea with the product launched today,'' Ms Talwar said.

The tea launched is a regular black tea with the addition of natural flavours of herbs and spices, she added.

''The launch of Tata Tea Life is in line with the company's ever striving efforts of offering newer and better innovations for its consumers,'' company's Managing Director Percy T Siganporia said.
