RIL makes two more gas finds in KG D6 and NEC 25

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) today announced two major gas discoveries in the east coast blocks.

The finds are in the KG D6 and NEC 25 blocks.

''The commerciality of the above discoveries is currently under evaluation. These recent discoveries demonstrate the further upside potential of the blocks in the Krishna Godavari and Mahanadi Basins,'' the company said.

RIL said it has completed drilling of the first well KG-D6-P2, which was the forty-sixth exploratory well and the twenty-second exploratory well drilled in KG D6 block. The well encountered two gas-bearing zones.

''This well has been notified to the DGH and concerned authorities as a new discovery, namely Dhirubhai 31, which is the seventeenth discovery in this block,'' the company added.

The second dicovery in NEC 25 block lies in the Mahanadi Basin The well has been notified to the Director General Hydrocarbons (DGH) and concerned authorities as a new discovery, as Dhirubhai 32, which is the seventh discovery in this block.

Fire claims one life in Sadar Bazaar shanties

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) One person died when a fire broke out in a shanty cluster near Sadar Bazaar in Old Delhi late last night. The blaze in the hutments on Qutub Road near Old Delhi Railway station started at about 0000 hrs, fire brigade said today. As many as 35 firetenders took about five and a half hours to put out the fire. More than 325 shanties and five adjoining shops were gutted in the flames. UNI.....

Moderate rains bring chill to Delhi air

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) The hot and sunny weather of the past week today gave way to a wet and chilly weather in the capital as moderate to heavy rains lashed Delhi since last night, plummeting the mercury by several degrees. Rescheduling of second phase of Budget Session unlikely: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) There is no proposal to reschedule the first phase of the Budget Session of Parliament ending on March 21, but any change in the second phase of the Session beginning April 18 will be considered after taking the views from various party leaders, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunmsi today said.
