Rescheduling of second phase of Budget Session unlikely: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) There is no proposal to reschedule the first phase of the Budget Session of Parliament ending on March 21, but any change in the second phase of the Session beginning April 18 will be considered after taking the views from various party leaders, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunmsi today said.

He told mediapersons here that the leaders of various parties were of the view that the first phase of the Budget Session should not be altered.

There was no proposal, either, to reschedule the second phase, but views of the various party leaders on the subject could be ascertained at a meeting on March 20 or 21 before taking the final decision, Mr Dasmunsi said.

He said the vote on account on General Budget would be disposed off in the Lok Sabha by March 15. Both the Rail and General Budget would be disposed off in the Rajya Sabha by March 16.

He said the Demands of Grants of the various Ministries would be disposed off by the Standing Committee during the recess of the Budget Session. The Finance Bill had to be passed before May 14.

Asked about a discussion on Quattrocchi issue, Mr Dasmunsi said the Government was not averse to any discussion regarding the status of the case and the government's role in it. ''The Speaker would allot the date and time of discussion on Quattrocchi issue,'' he added.
