NIT to train technical students all over India:MHRD

Durgapur, Mar 12 (UNI) The Ministry of Human Resource Development has chosen National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur to train the students of 1600 government and private engineering colleges all over India.

To get the jobs in government sector and MNC's, the ministry had taken the decision to start the eight-week-long course, known as finishing schools, where about 100 students would be trained for Rs 5000.

Director of NIT, Durgapur and member of the experts committee of finishing school Swapa Bhattacharya said such training programme is needed to ensure jobs to the suitable talent in the IT and BPO sectors.

The first batch would start their training programme from May 2007.

Opposition moves cut motion on supplementary budget

Ranchi, Mar 12 (UNI) Attacking the Madhu Koda-led UPA government in Jharkhand, the opposition NDA today apprehended that the funds allocated in the budget will be 'misused' as there was 'total political anarchy' in the state. Cow slaughter under the nose of police in Jharkhand: Opposition

Ranchi, Mar 12 (UNI) The Jharkhand government today said action will be taken against those violating the ban on cow slaughter. The government has taken the decision after heavy opposition from BJP and all other political parties in the state. State BJP's chief whip C P Singh raised the issue and produced some photographsto substantiate his argument. New train from Ranchi to Ajmer

Ranchi, Mar 12 (UNI) A new 'Ranchi-Ajmer Garib Nawaz' train connecting Ajmer in Rajasthan to Ranchi in Jahrkhand will begin from March 15. The South Eastern railways, in a release here today, stated that the train would leave Ranchi at 2020 hrs on Thursday and reach Ajmer on Saturday at 0630 hrs via Muri, Varanasi, Kanpur, Tundla, Agra and Jaipur. Similarly, for Ranchi, it would leave Ajmer on Saturday evening at 1830 hrs and arrive here on Monday at 0430hrs. The.....
