Miscreants loot ornaments worth Rs 50,000 from temple

Anand, Mar 12 (UNI) Miscreants looted Gold and Silver ornaments worth Rs 50,000 from Ranchodji temple in Ode village, here.

Unidentified persons scaled a nearby tree to enter the temple last night and decamped with the jewellery, police said.

The temple trustee Ramanbhai Devjibhai Patel has lodged a complaint at the Khambolej police station, police said.

No arrests have been made so far, police added.

Jamnagar, Mar 13 (UNI) The Jamnagar Police have arrested four persons and seized pirated CDs and DVDs worth Rs 94,400 during a raid late last evening. Police said during the raid, 6552 pirated CDS and DVDs were confiscated which were being illegally sold at roadside stalls. Educationist and 1st Dy. Mayor of RMC dead

Rajkot, Mar 13 (UNI) Vinodbhai Buch, an educationist and First Deputy Mayor of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, died here today following a brief illness. He was 72 and is survived by two sons and a daughter. He had served the RMC as Deputy Mayor during 1973 to 1975. His funeral procession would take place tomorrow morning from his residence, family sources said. UNI.....

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department Jayaraj Pathak today informed the Bombay High Court that if the cost of vehicles purchased by officials and office bearers of local bodies was more than the financial limit set out by the State government, the difference would be recovered from the concerned officials. Surat, Mar 13 (UNI) A woman, who was mentally disturbed after her husband tested HIV +ve, attemped suicide by setting herself and her son ablaze. Bavanaben, wife of a diamond trader, residing at Sita Nagar in Poonagam area here, tried committing suicide last night by setting herself and her one-and-half-year-old son on fire, police sources said. Three held for attacking BJP youth leader

Rajkot, Mar 13 (UNI) Three persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking a BJP youth leader here. Jitu Mehta was attacked last night by the accused and eight other friends, after he warned them against teasing a girl at a local PCO booth, police sources said.
