Man strangulates wife to death

Kolhapur, Mar 12 (UNI) A 22-year-old married woman has been strangulated to death by her husband, allegedly for objecting to his illicit relations with another woman, at village Arale in Panhala tehsil of this district.

Police said the deceased, identified as Namrata Nivas Shinde, was unhappy about her husband, Niwas Shinde's (a cable operator) illicit relationship with a woman in the village. Namarata often tried to persuade Nivas to end the relationship. Angry over this, Nivas allegedly strangulated Namrata to death at his house yesterday afternoon.

Nivas has been taken into custody in connection with the murder.

On getting information of Namrata's death, her parents, residing at nearby Borpadale village, accompanied by the villagers went to Arale and ransacked Nivas' house in protest. It was opposed by residents of Arale, police sources added.

NCP ahead in ZP elections in Pune district

Man involved in 2002 kidnapping case arrested

Anand, Mar 12 (UNI) A man accused of kidnapping a minor girl in 2002 was arrested by sleuths of the crime branch today, from Motipura area near Sarsa village here. Miscreants loot ornaments worth Rs 50,000 from temple

Anand, Mar 12 (UNI) Miscreants looted Gold and Silver ornaments worth Rs 50,000 from Ranchodji temple in Ode village, here. Unidentified persons scaled a nearby tree to enter the temple last night and decamped with the jewellery, police said. The temple trustee Ramanbhai Devjibhai Patel has lodged a complaint at the Khambolej police station, police said. No arrests have been made so far, police added. UNI.....
