Mahto murder case to be unravelled soon : DIG

Jamshedpur, Mar 12 (UNI) Deputy Inspector General of Police Ram Lakhan Prasad today said investigation into the assassination of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) MP from Jamshedpur Sunil Mahto was progressing in the right direction.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Prasad said police would unravel the mystery of the murder case soon.

Denying the report of arrest of four hardcore ultras during the combing operation in the forest along the West Bengal and Orissa border, he said, '' The investigation is going on in the right direction. But we are not going to jump into any conclusion in a haste as it might hamper the inquiry. '' He said the investigation team was interrogating the suspected, including some villagers, and videography of the interrogation was being done.

The police officer also confirmed that the killing was the handiwork of the naxalites and said the murderers would be arrested soon.

Mahto, two of his bodyguards and local JMM leader Prabhakar Mahto were gunned down by the CPI (Maoist) activists at Baghuria village near naxalite-dominated Ghatshila in East Singhbhum district during a soccer match on March 4.
