Kerala to promote hydel tourism

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan today told the Assembly that the government was taking immediate steps to develop hydel tourism projects and improve basic facilities in view of the increasing tourists inflow.

In a written reply, he said the government was also proposing to develop the Banasurasagar Project as a mega tourist complex through the Kerala Hydel Tourism Centre.

As part of the project, it was also planning to construct cottages and other tourist attractions like rope-ways connecting islands and developing water sports in reservoirs without affecting the environment.

Besides, pisciculture in reservoirs would be promoted for tourism, he added.

Pakistan has not lifted ban on Indian films, clarifies Govt

Inadequate processing and cold storage facilities cause waste

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) The Government today informed the Rajya Sabha that according to a report of Rabo India Finance Pvt Ltd wastage of agricultural food items is estimated to be about Rs 58,000 crore occurring at various stages of handling after harvesting.
