Hydel power stations produce 2798.21 million units electricity

Bhopal, Mar 12 (UNI) Hydel power stations of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) have set a record in the history of the State Electricity Board (MPSEB) by producing 2798.21 million units before one month of the expiry of the electricity year. A maximum production of 2712.87 million units electricity was registered in 2003-04. An increase of 17.22 per cent has been registered in the production of electricity as compared to 2387 million units produced till February last year, an official release said here today.

The hydel-power production capacity of the MPPGCL is 895 MW. In the current year till February, 397.17 million units were produced by the 115 MW capacity Gandhi Sagar hydel power station apart from 454.60 million units by 160 MW Pench Hydel Power station, 490.62 million units by 90 MW Rani Avanti Sagar hydel power station, 1035.46 million units by 315 MW Tons Hydel Power Station, 85.68 million units by 60 MW Bansagar-Devlond Hydel Power station, 91.30 million units by 30 MW Bansagar-Silpara Hydel Power Station, 54.47 million units by 20 MW Bansaga-Char Hydel Power Station, 14.80 million units by 40 MW Madikheda Hydel Power Station, 40.55 million units by 20 MW Birsingpur Hydel Power Station and 133.57 million units by 45 MW Rajghat Hydel Power Station, the release added.

MP Assy lauds INSAT-4B succcess
