eSys to tap 'unexplored' Linux mkt with Turbolinux

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) eSys Information Technologies has entered into a distribution partnership with Linux software major Turbolinux to explore the untapped market in India and SAARC.

Mr Noriaki Fukuyasu, President of Turbolinux India, said ''eSys has a strong distribution network in the Tier II markets of India.

This partnership will help Turbolinux target these important 'B' and 'C' class cities as well, where currently we have virtually no presence.'' As per the third-party figures available, the Linux and its application market in India is touted at around 19.9 million dollars by 2010 and is growing at about 21 per cent per annum.

''With our decision to partner with eSys Technologies in India and SAARC countries, we plan to leverage eSys' existing competencies to expand the Linux platform throughout the entire region,'' he said.

''eSys will optimise its channel network in the best possible way to make the latest of the software accessible to every segment of the market,'' eSys InfoTech Chief Operating Officer Neeraj Chauhan said.

With this, eSys has acquired a product portfolio that includes Turbolinux's Desktop Operating System, Server Operating Systems, Linux-based Enterprise Applications and Hardware Devices that run on Linux Operating System.

Turbolinux operating environments run on a wide range of hardware platforms and configurations -- on processors from Intel to IBM, and systems from thin clients to mainframes.

Turbolinux India Pvt Ltd, is a joint venture between Turbolinux Inc and IAP Company Ltd.

PNB sets up ATM in Birla Mandir

New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) To cater to the larger number of devotees who throng the Birla Mandir, in the heart of the city, the Punjab National Bank (PNB) today launched the Offsite ATM facility in the premises of the temple. The ATM was inaugurated by PNB CMD H C Gupta. On the occasion, trustee of Birla Mandir and renowned industrialist, Sidharth Birla was present. Mr Gupta said, the bank was serving its customers through its 178 branches spread through out.....

Sunidhi eager to cut international album

Lucknow, Mar 11 (UNI) Her enviable Bollywood playback singing status notwithstanding, top female crooner Sunidhi Chauhan would still love to cut an international album. ''It is an ultimate dream of every singer to launch an international album...I am no different,'' Sunidhi chuckled, when asked for her reaction, if she was offerred a chance to cut an English album. ''I admit, that I croon like the English singers and can sing in the Queen's language with panache...yes, I would love to go.....
