Copper, brass cuttings declines with LME

Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) Copper and brass cuttings declined on lack of fresh demand along with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In ferrous section, copper heavy and brass cuttings declined by Rs 300 and Rs 700 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

In non-ferrous section, copper wire bars drifted lower by Rs 500 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure. But lead ingots rose by Rs 100 per quintal on lesser stock supply.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 31,500, copper utensils - Rs 29,500, brass utensils - Rs 23,500, brass cuttings - Rs 24,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,250, zinc slab Rs 18,200, lead ingots - Rs 8,400, tin slab - Rs 695 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 2,080 (per kg).

Sensex crosses 13,000 mark in mid-morning session

Mumbai, Mar 13 (UNI) The BSE Sensex today crossed 13,000 mark and touched 13,026 points in the mid-morning session, after resuming high at 12,924 points with a modest gain of 22 points from its last close of 12,902.63 points as buying continued for the index based pivotals, brokers said. Later, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) rose 51.48 points, to 12,956.23. It had opened higher, at 12,924.50, and surged to a high of 13,026.85. Its low for the day.....
