Congress secures highest number of seats in Sangli

Sangli, Mar 12 (UNI) The Congress got the highest number of seats (30) in the Zilla Parishad elections in the district, even as no party failed to secure an absolute majority.

In the 62-member ZP, the NCP secured second spot winning 28 seats, while independent bagged two seats, Jansurajya Party one and local Kranti Front one, the District election branch sources said tonight.

ITBP to launch recruitment drive on May 4

Gandhinagar, Mar 15 (UNI) Indo-Tibet Boarder Police (ITBP) is going to launch a recruitment drive for Gujarat on May four here. Guj govt to hold Yogasan training camp for its legislator

Gandhinagar, 15 Mar (UNI) Gujarat government will hold a special Yogasan training camp for its legislators, here from March 16 to 23. Sarvopari Arogya Trust of Vadodara Harishbhai Vaidya will conduct the camp. Mr Vaidya teaches Yoga in Gujarat Police (armed) Unit. He has conducted more than one thousand Yoga camps for various sectors that include administrative staff of Gujarat Vidhansabha and players of Ranji Trophy. UNI.....

Property gutted in fire

Kolhapur, Mar 15 (UNI) A fire broke out today at a cloth godown in the powerloom town of Ichalkaranji of this district and gutted a substantial amount of property. Vardaram Prajapat's clothes 'pedee' (clothes stocks store), located in Ichalkaranji cloth market, had huge stock of cloth, computers, furniture and other materials, which was gutted in the fire, Fire-brigade and police officials here said. However, no one was injured in the mishap and the cause of the fire is stated to.....

Young woman drowns in Vartak River

Nadiad, Mar 15 (UNI) The body of a twenty-year-old woman, who drowned in Vatrak River in Matar village of Khedia district, was found floating near Motipura village today. Police sources said the victim Meenaben Mukeshbhai Parmar was washing clothes when she accidentally fell into the river last Tuesday. Her relatives and villagers found her body floating near Motipura village this morning. The body was later taken to a nearby hospital for post-mortem, Police sources said. UNI.....
