BJP MLA injured in car accident in Punjab

Ludhiana, Mar 12 (UNI) Punjab BJP MLA Surjit Kumar Jayani and two others were injured when their car collided head-on with another vehicle near Neelon on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana Highway this evening, police here said.

Mr Jayani, who represents the Fazilka assembly constituency, was returning to his village in Ferozepur district after attending a party meeting at Chandigarh. The other injured included the BJP MLA's cousin brother and his gunman. They were all admitted to the Appolo Hospital here. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Air Sahara announces expansion of service to Male, Kuala Lumpur

Kochi, Mar 12 (UNI) Air Sahara today announced expansion of its overseas services, adding Male and Kuala Lumpur to the foreign destinations covered by it. Addressing a press conference here, Air Sahara president Alok Sharma said while the Cochin-Trivandrum-Male service started on March 10, a Delhi-Kuala Lumpur connection would be added to the network on March 19. DMK stages demo condemning killing of fishermen by Lankan Navy

Chennai, Mar 12 (UNI) The ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu today staged an hour-long demonstration to condemn the indiscriminate killing of Tamil fishermen and demanded an end to this undeclared war by the Lankan navy, even as fishermen in Rameswaram stayed away from sea to condemn the attacks. Lankan Naval firing: Fishermen keep away from sea

Ramewaram, Tamil Nadu, Mar 12 (UNI) Thousands of fishermen of this temple town kept away from the sea in protest against recent killings of innocent Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy off the coast of Tamil Nadu.
