Bellary records highest temperature of 38.2 deg cel

Bangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hours today.

Dry weather prevailed over the State.

Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka.

Bellary recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38.2 deg c over the State.

Minimum temperatures rose at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and changed little over Interior Karnataka. They were normal over the State.

Belgaum AP recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 16.9 deg c over the State.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Mainly dry weather may prevail over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin; Mainly dry weather may prevail over all the districts of the State.

Local forecast: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and Minimum temperature would be around 33 deg celsius and 19 degree Celsius respectively.

Idol in TN temple worth Rs 15 lakh missing

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nad, Mar 16 (UNI) The 175 ft Panchaloka idol weighing 11 kgs and worth Rs 15 lakh was stolen from Maliswaran temple at Chengalmal in Kelambakkam, near here yesterday. Police said the watchman of the temple noticed a stranger leaving the temple premises during the morning pooja. The temple authorities chase went in vain as the stranger managed to escape. Committee opposing port development to intensify stir
