Assembly adjourned following uproar by the RJD

Patna, Mar 12 (UNI) The Bihar Assembly was today adjourned twice during the pre-lunch session following bedlam by RJD members over alleged failure of the police to arrest the accused involved in bombing party MLA Kunti Devi's house and subsequent threats on her life.

While replying to a question of Ms Kunti Devi, Bihar Home Minister (In-charge) Vijendra Prasad Yadav said Kunti Devi's residence was blown up on Jnauary 18 at Khijarsarai block in Gaya district. During an investigation, the police had recovered some documents from the spot in which the Maoists claimed the bombing was a lesson for people.

He said the MLA's son had lodged an FIR against six people.

However, the named accused, through the applications, have pleaded themselves innocent.

Mr Yadav said some of the witnesses revealed that the incident was a handiwork of the Maoists, adding that the matter was being probed by the zonal Inspector General of Police.

But Ms Kunti Devi, rejecting the pleas, trooped into the well and sat for dharna aided by RJD members, who alleged that the accused were roaming free.

Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhry, after failing to pacify them, adjourned the house till 1130 hours.

As soon as the House reassembled, the RJD members again trooped in to the well, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House till lunch.

Later, the leader of the Opposition Rabri Devi led a delagation of women members to the Speaker's chamber and requested him to ensure arrest of the named accused.
