A 400-beded Hospital will be built in 'Health City'

Bangalore, Mar 12(UNI) A 400-bedded Superspeciality Hospital for patients with Trauma injuries will be built at a cost of Rs 100 Crore in 'Health City', in the outskirts of the City.

The Hospital, to be set up with modern equipment, would be set up for accident victims, orthopedic and plastic surgery in India, Dr Sharan Shivaraj Patil, a leading Orthopedic Surgeon told newsmen here today.

He said that the Sparsh Hospital would be inaugurated by Union Minister for home Shivraj Patil on March 17.

Dr Patil said that Sparsh Hospital, located in the 30 acres campus was designed to accommodate more than 400 trauma patients at a time.

He said that the mission of the hospital was to be the finest musculo skeletal care hospital in the world available to larger section of the society with lowest cost without compromising the quality of service. The hospital is having the privilege of largest number of experts in every super-specialised area of trauma medicine like plastic surgery, vascular surgery and neuro surgery. The hospital also has a large number of intensive care beds with a team of dedicated intensivist and anastheseologist specially trained to handle accident victims.

The special modular design of the building would enable to convert the entire hospital to handle mass casualty in minutes. To ensure ever-preparedness and to meet any eventuality a routine mass casualty drill also would be conducted every six months, he added.

The Hospital also offers best services for Arthritis patients besides joint replacement, pediatric orthopedic, sports medicine, limb reconstruction, bone tumor surgery and hand surgery, maxilo facial and burns by the dedicated and skilled surgeons in each faculty.

Dr Devi Shetty, a leading cardiac surgeon and also promoter of the Health City concept, who was also present, said that with an aim to establish multiple medical specialist at one place, Sparsh Hospital is come up with facility that could take care of all the trauma related services with world-class facility.

He said that in the 30 acres around Narayan Hridayalaya various specialty hospital units will come into existence and in the next 2 years the campus will have over 5000 beds. The Union Grants Commission (UGC) was also approached to get Deemed University Status for the Narayana Health City which also comprehensively cover every aspect of medical science in terms of clinical practice, research and education, he added.

Karnataka minister injured in accident

Mysore, Mar 13 (UNI) Karnataka cooperative minister G T Deve Gowda was injured in an accident when his car was hit by a another car on the Mysore - Nanjangud road late last night. Mr Devegowda was returning to the Mysore city after attending the village festival at Chikka Kanya, near here, when the mishap occurred. Though the injuries were not serious, he was admitted to a private hospital here. Police have seized the car and arrested the driver and investigation.....
