Udit Narayan praises media for musical platforms

Lucknow, Mar 11 (UNI) Versatile Bollywood singer Udit Narayan has praised the electronic media for giving musical platforms such as 'Indian Idol' to budding singers.

''Earlier, there were fewer vistas to showcase one's talent in singing. Today, there are so many TV shows and contests, which give a perfect opportunity to budding artistes to hog limelight,'' Udit Narayan said talking to mediapersons here last night.

The singer has been signed as a judge in the third edition of Indian Idol, along with 'Made in India' girl Alisha Chinai and top music composer Anu Malik.

On his new innings as a judge in a popular talent show, the singer maintained he was eager to learn newer things in the process.

''I have got this opportunity to visit so many places and listen to thousands of both raw and polished singers. I am looking forward to learning from these fresh talents.''
