Seven killed, 37 injured in truck accident

Sambalpur, Mar 11 (UNI) Seven members of a marriage party were killed and 37 others injured, some of them seriously, when the truck carrying them overturned near Piplipal, about 80 km from here today.

Police said the mini truck carrying the marriage party, was returning to Piplipal from Talmunda when the accident occurred. While four people died on the spot, three others succumbed to their injuries in the Baragarh Hospital and V S S Medical College and Hospital at Burla.

Of the 37 injured, at least 14 were admitted to the V S S Medical College and Hospital while the rest were admitted to the Baragarh Hospital.

The Bheden police, under whose jurisdiction the accident took place, rushed to the spot and shifted the injured people to the hospitals. Police said six accident victims had so far been identified.

Indigo faces bomb scare

Kolkata, Mar 11 (UNI) An Indigo flight from Kolkata to Nagpur returned to the Dum Dum Airport following a bomb hoax. Official sources said, the flight returned after an anonymous caller told the Air Traffic Control that that there was bomb aboard the Indigo flight. Soon after, the aircraft landed. The passengers were evacuated and the security agencies, including those of bomb detection and disposal squad, searched the aircraft. However, nothing was found.
