Protests continue in Cauvery heartland in K'taka

Mysore, Mar 11 (UNI) Agitations and protests continued against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal in the Cauvery basin districts of Mandya, Mysore and Chamarajanagara for the 35th day today.

In Mandya, the Cauvery Hitarakshna Samithi members continued their indefinite hunger strike at Silver Jubilee park under the leadership of its President Made Gowda.

In a novel agitation in Mysore, yoga teachers and students staged an yoga demonstration for an hour at the K R Circle against the verdict. Kabini Raitha Hitarakshna Samithi decided to intensify the Cauvery stir from March 22. It was high time that the farming community, cutting across party lines, joined hands to oppose any move to implement the award, its President Shantha Kumar said.

In Chamarajanagara, the Karnataka Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sena staged a protest.

Corp Bank installs biometric ATM in Mangalore

Mangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) The Corporation Bank has launched AGS Infotech - Wincor Nixdorf Biometric Kisan ATM here to cater to the banking needs of rural India and accelerate the ongoing efforts to facilitate financial inclusion. London college to offer degree course in Indian Music

Bangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) Trinity College of Music, London, will offer a four-year degree course in Indian Music in association with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, validated by the University of Westminster.
