Police register FIR against killing of two civilians by Army

Srinagar, Mar 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police today registered a FIR in connection with the alleged killing of two civilians by the 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in South Kashmir yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama said that a formal FIR was registered in Police station Tral today.

He said the incident will be throughly investigated and guilty persons would be punished according to the law of the land.

Giving details about the incident, the Deputy Commissioner said that according to army, they had received information about the presence of militants in Aripal Tral.

However, as the area was being sealed, there was an exchange of fire between militants and the security forces in which two civilians were killed.

He said the local residents, however, alleged that security forces opened unprovoked fire, killing the two civilians.

He said the situation is under control now.

BOI ties up with Japanese life insurance company

Panaji, Mar 12 (UNI) The public sector banking major Bank of India (BOI) today announced that it will come out with attractive life insurance products for the public in collaboration with Dai-Ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company of Japan within six months. BoI plans host of projects for rural India

Panaji, Mar 12 (UNI) Public sector Bank of India (BoI) has embarked on a rainbow of projects to ''revolutionise rural banking''. Introduction of biometrically-enabled mobile ATMs in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra for the benefit of villagers who cannot key ''passwords'' for drawing money using credit cards, is one of the project.
