Police busts inter-state LeT network

Jammu, Mar 11 (UNI) An inter-state network of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was busted with the arrest of four militants from a bus in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

Following intelligence inputs, the police arrested four militants, including one hailing from Chandigarh, from a Poonch-bound bus near Rajouri last evening, the sources said.

They were identified as Mohmmad Taj, Showkat Ahmed of Poonch, Mohammad Zubar of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Mohammad Khan of Chandigarh.

During questioning, militants also disclosed their plans to carry out fidayeen attacks at general bus stand and railway station under the directions of Mendhar-based LeT's ''divisional commander'' Afzal Shah, the sources added.

They also revealed presence of their aides in Chandigarh and Rajasthan.

The Police have dispatched a team to Chandigarh for further investigation.

Obsene video triggers protests in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Mar 11 (UNI) The circulation of obscene video clippings showing an 18-year-old girl sparked off protests by the students and locals in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand today. The students attacked shops and gheroed police station seeking an action against the culprit. Police had to resort to baton-charge to quell the agitated mob. One Faizal Khan (21) was arrested in this connection. The girl has also been brought to 'thana' for investigation. On interrogation, the arrested youth admitted.....

Cong to organise protest in Kerala on Mar 22

Kochi, Mar 11 (UNI) The Congress will organise a statewide protest against the ''anti-people'' Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala on March 22, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala said today. NHRC concerned about increasing crime against children

Gulbarga, Mar 11 (UNI) Expressing concern over the increasing criminal acts against children, National Human Rights Commission acting Chairman Justice Shivaraj Patil today said guidelines would be framed to check it. Addressing a press conference here, he said a five-member committee, headed by former CBI Director P C Sharma, would be constituted to probe into the violations of rights of children.
