Over 5 lakh people gather for IAF's biggest air show

Allahabad, Mar 11 (UNI) Over five lakh people gathered on the sandy beaches of river Ganga to witness the mega air show organised by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in commemoration with its platinum jubilee celebrations.

Uttar Pradesh governor T V Rajeshwar was the chief guest, who arrived at the Sangam by the state plane along with his wife Mahalaxmi rajeshwar.

The main aim of the show was to showcase the capabilities and professionalism of the IAF, besides generating keen interest in the youth of the country to join the IAF.

The main attraction of the air show was the fly pasts by various aircraft in the inventory of the Central Air Command, followed by the world famous Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) and para trooping by the Akash Ganga Team.

New CFM56 engine maintenance training centre

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) CFM International will open its fourth aircraft engine maintenance training school in India. CFM International is a 50:50 joint venture company between Snecma (SAFRAN Group) and General Electric Company. ''We're excited by the opportunity to bring advanced CFM56 engine maintenance training to India,'' said CFM's vice-president for India Paul-Andre Chevrin. Coast Guard displays its prowess off Vizhinjam Harbour

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 11 (UNI) The Indian Coast Guard today presented a breathtaking display of its prowess by conducting exercises off Vizhinjam Harbour showcasing its capabilities and operational readiness.
