Obsene video triggers protests in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Mar 11 (UNI) The circulation of obscene video clippings showing an 18-year-old girl sparked off protests by the students and locals in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand today.

The students attacked shops and gheroed police station seeking an action against the culprit. Police had to resort to baton-charge to quell the agitated mob.

One Faizal Khan (21) was arrested in this connection. The girl has also been brought to 'thana' for investigation.

On interrogation, the arrested youth admitted to have shot the video of the girl who he claimed was in love with but said the clipping taken by him in his room was lost somewhere later.

He claimed that the finder of the video might have circulated it.

Meanwhile students and the Members of Hindu Jagaran Manch and the City Unit of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha gathered at the main road and ransacked a video shop and other shops belonging to members of a particular community.

''Police patrolling has been reinforced in the city. The situation is under control and the matter is under investigaton,'' Pauri DSP told UNI

BOI ties up with Japanese life insurance company

Panaji, Mar 12 (UNI) The public sector banking major Bank of India (BOI) today announced that it will come out with attractive life insurance products for the public in collaboration with Dai-Ichi Mutual Life Insurance Company of Japan within six months. Disclosing this to media persons here, BoI's chairman-cum-managing director M Balachandran said the bank had already entered into an arrangement for setting up a joint venture with the foreign company, which was ranked second best in Japan and sixth largest.....

BoI plans host of projects for rural India

Panaji, Mar 12 (UNI) Public sector Bank of India (BoI) has embarked on a rainbow of projects to ''revolutionise rural banking''. Introduction of biometrically-enabled mobile ATMs in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra for the benefit of villagers who cannot key ''passwords'' for drawing money using credit cards, is one of the project.
