Nepal still a Hindu nation: RSS

Lucknow, Mar 11 (UNI) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today maintained that the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal was still a hindu state despite the recent amendment in its constitution.

RSS Sarkaryavaha Mohanrao Bhagwat said here that though the term 'Hindu' has been removed from the constitution of Nepal, India's neighbour still continued to be a Hindu state in all practical senses.

''Several Hindu conventions and programmes have been successfully organised there...it is still a Hindu country,'' he said.

Mr Bhagwat was talking to reporters on the last day of a three-day meet of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha which began here on Saturday morning. It was attended by 1,000 RSS workers and 300 representatives of 42 organisations affiliated to RSS.

Police register FIR against killing of two civilians by Army

Srinagar, Mar 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police today registered a FIR in connection with the alleged killing of two civilians by the 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in South Kashmir yesterday. Obsene video triggers protests in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Mar 11 (UNI) The circulation of obscene video clippings showing an 18-year-old girl sparked off protests by the students and locals in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand today. The students attacked shops and gheroed police station seeking an action against the culprit. Police had to resort to baton-charge to quell the agitated mob. One Faizal Khan (21) was arrested in this connection. The girl has also been brought to 'thana' for investigation. On interrogation, the arrested youth admitted.....

Cong to organise protest in Kerala on Mar 22

Kochi, Mar 11 (UNI) The Congress will organise a statewide protest against the ''anti-people'' Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala on March 22, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala said today.
