Nepal committed to US citizen's security: Koirala

Kathmandu, March 11 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today said his government was committed to the security of American citizens residing in the country.

''The US citizens in Nepal will be given additional security if they ask for it,'' Kantipur quoted Mr Koirala as saying in his hometown Biratnagar.

The remarks came following the warning from the US to its citizens to stay alert, after Maoists chairman Prachanda's remarks that a ''plot to kill US officials by the royal palace'' was under way.

The US embassy here issued a statement last week urging the Maoists supremo to share such an information with Nepal Police or with US embassy officials.

Islamabad, Mar 12 (UNI) China has delivered two JF-17 (Thunder) aircraft to Pakistan Air Force (PAF), which will be displayed for the first time during the Joint Services Pakistan Day Parade on March 23. Islamabad, Mar 12 (UNI) The two-day India-Pakistan foreign secretary level talks begins here tomorrow with a renewed focus on ways to push forward the peace process for resolution of key issues. ''The two-day talks will focus on regional peace and security,'' Pakistan foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam today told a press briefing here. The two-day meeting will mark commencement of the fourth round of peace talks, which India and Pakistan had resumed in February 2004. The foreign secretaries will review.....

Over 200 ETA-Ascon workers deported for agitation in Dubai

Dubai, March 12 (UNI) More than 200 workers of the Indian-owned construction giant ETA-Ascon here will be deported to receive a lifetime ban for destroying company buses and hurting their manager at the labour accommodation, a Ministry of Labour official said.
