MP CM orders Collector's removal

Sheopur, MP, Mar 11 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered the immediate removal of District Collector Mahendra Singh Bhilala and two other officials following complaints received during a Jandarshan programme.

''The Collector, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shyam Singh and District Education Officer R L Upadhyay are to be transferred in the wake of complaints of irregularities in the Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Education Department,'' Mr Chouhan told mediapersons today at Tiktoli village 90 km from this district headquarters.

Under the Jandarshan campaign, the Chief Minister yesterday travelled more than 100 km by road and sought villagers' feedback on implementation of various government schemes.

The Water Resources Department's Sub-Divisional Officer S K Jain and Block Education Officer Gurjeet Singh were suspended, official sources said.

3-year-old girl slips into 60-feet borewell

Bhavnagar, Mar 11 (UNI) A three-year-old girl reportedly fell into a 60-feet dry borewell in Karmadia village, 100 km away from here, this afternoon. Police said Arti Chawda, who was trying to climb a tree, slipped and fell into the borewell.
