Local admin seeks Army's help to get girl out of 60-ft borewell

Bhavnagar, Mar 11 (UNI) The Local administration here has sought help from the Army to rescue a three-year-old girl, who accidently fell into a 60-feet deep borewell in Karmadia village here today.

Official sources said oxygen was being provided to girl in a bid to save her life. Fire fighters from Bagdana, Mahuva and Bhavnagar had already reached the spot.

The girl, Aarti who had earlier been answering to the calls of the rescuers, has not been responding since the last four hours, according to the authorities and it is suspected that she might have fallen unconscious.

A medical team has also reached the site to help local authorities.

A team from Ahmedabad, equipped with search cameras and other materials have already left for the village, sources added.

Naxals try to disrupt ZP polls in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Mar 11 (UNI) A villager and a policeman were injured in a blast, triggered by Naxals, targetted at a polling party at Kasamsur Sewari in Etapalli taluka of Gadchiroli district. The Naxals also opened fire at the police party accompanying the polling officials at four places in Gadchiroli district. Three hardcore rebels killed in encounter

Agartala, Mar 11 (UNI) At least three underground militants were shot dead and arms and ammunition were recovered by the Assam Rifles in Tripura's West and North districts respectively in separate encounters in the last 48 hours. Army pushes out militants from Manipur to Myanmar

Imphal, Mar 11 (UNI) Army officials said today they have pushed out militants from Manipur's Ukhrul district towards Myanmar. Assam Rifles officials said acting on a tip off, an operation was launched to flush out United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadres from Ukhrul. In the operation which lasted for nearly five-days, two militants were killed and one SLR, ammunition and warlike stores were ecovered.
