Bangalore: Insat 4B launch deferred till March 12

Bangalore, Mar 11: The launch of India's latest communication satellite Insat 4B was deferred by a day this morning following an anomaly noticed in the launchpad seven minutes before the scheduled blast off.

The satellite was to be launched by Ariane Five vehicle of Arianespace from Kourou, French Guyana between 0355 hrs and 0428 hrs today.

Infosys denies rumour on Cap Gemini acquisition

Bangalore, July 11: Indian software major Infosys today denied takeover of French IT consulting firm Cap Gemini and brushed reports to this effect as rumours. Talking to newsmen at the announcement of the first quarter results of the company, Infosys CEO and Managing Director S Gopalakrishnan said ''we cannot comment on rumours''. Stating that Infosys was keen on acquisitions, he said it was open for companies both within the country and outside......

London, July 8 : Curtains came down on Indian challenge at Wimbledon with the last man standing, Leander Paes and his American partner Meghann Shaughnessy losing to an unseeded French duo of Fabrice Santoro and Severine Bremond in a mixed doubles quarterfinal here. The eighth seeded Indo-American pair squandered a set advantage to go down 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, courtesy an erratic service and a number of unforced errors. The duo committed 17 unforced errors.....
