CTC tea in demand in Kolkata tea auction market

Kolkata, Mar 11(UNI) CTC variety of tea was in the main sales driver of Kolkata tea auction market last week with a sale of 9,10,439 kgs.

Auction market report here today said there was good demand of the CTC variety of tea.

CTC was followed by the dust variety, sale of which stood at 4,55,655 kgs.

Around 94,673 kgs of Orthodox variety of tea was sold while sales Darjeeling stood at 25.400 kgs.

The report said all the varieties had good demand. In case of Darjeeling, the local dealers were the mainstay of the market. For CTC and Orthodox varieties, local and North Indian buyers were active. There was CIS inquiry for the Orthodox variety, the report added.

Sensex opens firm at 12,916.67 pts, up by 32 pts

Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) The BSE Sensex today resumed high at 12,916.67 points with a modest gain of 32 points from its last close of 12,884.99 points, on fresh speculative demand from FIIs and domestic mutual funds, brokers said. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) spurted in the opening session, as buying resumed for battered index pivotals. Most of it is attributed to short-covering in the derivatives market. Later, it was up by 83.16 at 12,968.15 points.....

ICRA enters capital market on Mar 20, Price band fixed at 275-330

Dena Bank enters core banking era
