Bhopal, Mar 11 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh BJP described as an achievement its victory from Gwalior Lok Sabha and Udaypura Vidhan Sabha constituencies but the state Congress -- which managed to wrest the Sidhi (ST) Lok Sabha seat from the BJP -- claimed that people were disenchanted with the BJP.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated newly-elected Udaypura BJP candidate Shahsi Prabha Singh, who came to visit at his residence after by-poll results were declared.

Expressing gratitude to the electorate for the by-poll results, state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar said public had blessed the party by making it victorious. The victory was a result of the public-oriented policies of the BJP.

Without discussing about the loss the BJP suffered in Sidhi, Mr Tomar said division of votes because of some narrow-minded parties led to the party's loss in some places.

State BJP General Secretary Makhan Singh Chouhan congratulated party workers for the result stating that the victory was the result of their dedication and hardwork.

Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi expressed satisfaction at the by-poll result stating that the victory from Sidhi Lok Sabha seat indicated growing confidence of the tribals in the Congress.
