Bansal inaugurates Bharat Nirman campaign at Maloya

Chandigarh, Mar 11 (UNI) A three-day Bharat Nirman public information campaign under the flagship programme of the Union Government began here at Maloya village.

Inaugurating the campaign, Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal said India has taken many strides in the field of development and touched 9.2 per cent growth rate due to the policies of the Government.

He said generally the policies formulated by the government could not achieve the desired target due to the lack of awareness among the people. The real benefit of the Government's welfare programmes would reach the common people if they were aware of these schemes.

The campaign was organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB), Northern Region, Chandigarh in collaboration with other media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Mr Bansal appreciated the PIB for conducting huge awareness programme for the people of the area. He urged different units of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to spread the message of the welfare schemes of the government with missionary zeal in order to cover each beneficiary under the flagship programmes of the Government.
