Air Chief Marshal Tyagi in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 11 (UNI) Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi arrived at the Southern Air Command here today.

He was accompanied by President of Air Force Wives Welfare Association, Vandana Tyagi.

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command Air Marshal Y R Rane and Ms Geeta Rane received them at Thiruvananthapuram Airport.

On their arrival, Air Chief Marshal Tyagi reviewed the Guard of Honour at 17 FBSU Air Force.

A Defence release said the Air Chief Marshal would address the Station Commanders of Southern Air Command tomorrow on strategic aspects. He would also touch upon the security scenario with particular reference to the area of responsibility of Southern Air Command.

All the commanders of the Air Force Station and Wing under Southern Air Command will participate in the three-day Station Commanders' Conference.

The Chief of Air Staff along with other senior officers of the armed forces would update the Commanders' on future requirements in Southern Air Command area of responsibility.

Joint vigil of IMBL only after Centre's nod: MK

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said Sri Lanka's reported proposal for a joint monitoring of the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) with India to prevent attacks on Indian fishermen was possible, only if the Centre gave its nod. Airman cremated with honours

Coimbatore, Mar 13 (UNI) The mortal remains of Airman Ramkumar (21) who died in a fire mishap at the Agra Air Force Station on March 11, was consigned to flames here with military honours. According to Ramkumar's father Shanmugam, his son joined the Air Force a year ago and after training at Sulur Air Force Station, was posted to Agra.
